Accelerating Ghana’s Green Energy Transition
ACCRA, Ghana – 21st October 2025 – TFI Power Company Limited (TFI Power), the renewable energy subsidiary of Ten Forward International Group, today announced that the Hiowe Mahem Solar Power Plant has entered its full mobilization phase, marking a major step toward commissioning the largest private utility-scale solar project in the region. The project, located adjacent to the Hiowe Industrial Park, comprises an energy zone that will host an 82 MWp Solar PV Array and a state-of-the-art Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
The strategic placement of the solar plant is instrumental to the TFI Group’s vision for the adjacent industrial park. Not only will the plant deliver reliable, clean power to the national grid via a dedicated 6.2 km Transmission Line, but it will also ensure the Advanced Manufacturing & Technology Cluster within the industrial park is powered by highly stable, sustainable energy, a critical requirement for attracting international technology and data center operators.
Nana Prempeh, Founder and Director of Ten Forward International Group, emphasized the transformative nature of the investment. “Energy independence and sustainability are the bedrock of modern industrial growth. We designed the Hiowe Mahem Solar Power Plant to be the engine of the entire industrial park, offering clean power security that few other sites in West Africa can match,” stated Nana Prempeh. “This 82 MWp system is a bold, tangible demonstration of our commitment to Ghana’s decarbonization goals. It is a powerful statement that when you choose to manufacture or house your data here, you are choosing a sustainable, future-proof operation.”
The BESS component of the plant is particularly critical, ensuring power quality and grid stability by storing surplus solar generation for use during peak demand or off-sunlight hours. This resilience is a key differentiator for the park, which houses energy-intensive facilities, including the Tier III+ Data Center Campus.
Beyond the direct environmental benefits of replacing fossil fuel sources and reducing regional emissions, the project is structured to maximize local impact. TFI Power is collaborating closely with local authorities and communities to ensure long-term employment in plant operations, maintenance, and security.

“The true measure of this investment is not just in megawatts, but in the sustainable jobs and stability it creates for the Shai-Osudoku District,” Nana Prempeh added. “We project that the plant, once fully operational, will generate over 90 gigawatt hours of clean electricity annually. By doing so, we are delivering on our promise to invest in infrastructure that yields genuine, long-term socio-economic benefits, positioning Ghana as a leader in Africa’s green industrial revolution.” The project remains on schedule for its target Commercial Operation Date.
