His academic foundation includes an MBA from Aston Business School in Birmingham, UK. Mr. Adu's career trajectory underscores a profound aptitude for financial and operational governance, notably his appointment in 1992 as Financial Controller/Treasurer to the pioneering Management Team that established the first equipment leasing company in Ghana, Ghana Leasing Company.

This initial mandate centered on rigorous capital management and treasury functions essential for market penetration and establishing fiscal stability. Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC)

  • In his capacity as the first Chief Executive of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC), Mr. Adu was instrumental in elevating the organization to Africa’s premier utilities regulator. His executive function consistently required balancing consumer needs with the profitability and investment imperatives of power producers and transmission companies, effectively driving growth within a regulated environment.

Global Engagement

  • His extensive global engagement—including presentations at high-level conferences organized by the World Energy Council and the World Forum on Energy Regulation—has not only facilitated the development of strong management skills but also ensured an intimate, contemporary understanding of the financial dynamics of the global power/energy market.
