Mr. Elom Fugar is a principal leader and strategic investor focused on developing and financing large-scale industrial and energy infrastructure across Sub-Saharan Africa. With deep expertise in Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), structural engineering, and corporate finance, Mr. Fugar guides TFI Group’s strategy in creating value-added, green industrial platforms like the Hiowe Mahem Shai Industrial Park.
STRATEGIC INFRASTRUCTURE & QUANTIFIABLE IMPACT
Mr. Fugar brings a proven track record of successful execution in complex, multi-stakeholder projects. He previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Takoradi Steel Company Limited (TSCL), where he spearheaded the execution of Phase 1 of the Takoradi Logistics Platform (TLP). This critical project, which formed part of the wider US$59 million Funko Lagoon Development PPP, established Ghana’s first dedicated oil and gas base and logistics hub for offshore supply vessels.
Under his leadership, TSCL and its affiliates, including Adzoyo Services Limited (ASL), delivered complex industrial steel structures to major international clients in the region, managing over US$12 million in specialized projects across the consumer goods, logistics, and energy sectors. This hands-on experience has translated into a strategic focus on turnkey Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) solutions that adhere to stringent international standards, such as AISC and ASTM, ensuring global quality for local projects.
DEAL-MAKING AND CORPORATE FINANCE
Mr. Fugar commenced his career at KPMG, working within the Audit & Assurance Department, specializing in the Financial Services, Energy, and Government subdivisions. This foundational experience provided him with a rigorous understanding of corporate policy review, financial assurance, and deal management.
During his tenure at KPMG, Mr. Fugar was centrally involved in financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions and complex corporate restructuring mandates, managing portfolios with an aggregate value of approximately US$500 million. This background ensures that his approach to infrastructure development for TFI Group is grounded in financial discipline and optimized structuring for high-yield, long-term investments.
GLOBAL CONTEXT AND TFI GROUP MANDATE
Mr. Fugar’s core investment thesis centers on leveraging Africa’s vast mineral and resource base by developing the industrial and energy infrastructure needed for local value addition.
At TFI Group, Mr. Fugar provides strategic oversight for projects that integrate sustainable infrastructure with international manufacturing demand, positioning Ghana as a prime manufacturing hub for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). His leadership ensures that TFI Group’s projects are not only technically sound but are strategically financeable and globally competitive through strong partnerships, such as those with specialized steel structure providers like US Buildings Vietnam.
